DIY / Build your own terrarium

I'm not much of a green thumb but I am absolutely in love with terrariums. Love how they are so fuss-free and easy to set up. Also, it's a really fun weekend project.

Last week, I dropped by Far East Flora and took a long time (as usual) choosing a few cactuses, succulent plants (oh gosh, succulent plants are so fat and adorable hahaha) and rocks.

Isn't the containers lovely? Adore the geometrical shape.

Here's how I did it:

1. Layer the bottom with charcoal
2. Layer with a bit of sphagnum moss
3. Pack down a bit of soil
4. Dislodge plants from their little pots, dig a little hole to fit the roots. I also added some of their own soil to the terrarium.
5. Add more plants if desired
6. Layer the top with some fine white sand or in my case, small white rocks.

I wouldn't buy ready-made terrariums because making them is the fun part and besides, you can to customise it and adjust it to exactly the way you want them to be.
