Current Skincare Routine

current skincare routine
My skin isn’t perfect and I have always struggled with hormonal acne (those horrible, pesky cystic types that would take 10,000 years to go away), it doesn't help that I have plenty of late nights. However, my skin is currently at one of its best state after switching up my skincare products recently and investing in more hydrating products instead of drying treatments. I have also been cutting down on my alcohol and sugar intake. Gosh, damn those sugar cravings though! I try to curb those by having unsweetened tea instead.

Taking inspiration from the Korean 10-Step Skincare Routine, here's my current skincare routine:

banila co clean it zero
Oil Cleanse

Having oily skin, i tend to veer away from oil products. But guys, oil cleanser is such a game changer. I have been using this Banila Co Cleansing Balm that practically melts away the makeup without stripping off essential oils.

Mild Cleanser

They call this the double-cleanse when you follow up with a mild oil-free cleanser. I’m switching between Mario Badescu Acne Cleanser and Clinique Liquid Facial Soap for Skin Type 3. They are all oil-free, mild and doesn’t latter.

son and park beauty water mario badescu toner

This step is really important for me because this is the part that I felt like really takes off the what’s left of all the makeup I have missed in the first step. I use Son & Park Beauty Water for something lighter and refreshing in the morning and I use Mario Badescu Glycolic Acid Toner for nights when I want something stronger. Glycolic acid can also promotes cell regeneration so it fades scars.

Eye Cream

I have started using eye cream this year because it's about damn time! Apparently, we start to age at the age of 20 and the skin around the eyes are the most delicate. I'm using Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream for the day and Mario Badescu Ceramide Herbal Eye Cream for night, they are both hydrating and aims to decrease puffiness.

banish vitamin c serum keihl's midnight concentrate

This step wasn’t part of my routine until recently when I was sent a Vitamin C Serum from Banish. It’s made from natural ingredients and also meant to promote cell regeneration and has plenty of uses. I have added a couple of drops into my liquid foundation and facial mist as well. If my skin gets a little flaky, i'd switch for something stronger like the Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate.

origins out of trouble mask glow detox mask

I tend to buy a lotttt of masks and I really can’t possibly list everything I use here. I frequently use the clay types because I feel that those really works for me. My top favourites would be Glow Deep Detox Black Mask and Origins Out of Trouble Mask. They both dry up after leaving it on the skin and aims to suck up all the gunk from the pores.

laneige balancing emulsion clinique lotion

I used to skip moisturiser because I have oily skin and I get the impression that i'm just adding more oil to my skin. Turns out that your skin could produce more oil when it's dehydrated because it's trying to compensate for it. I use Laneige Light Balancing Emulsion in the day before my make-up and something more hydrating like Clinique Moisturing Lotion+ for the night.

origins overnight mask
Sleeping Mask

I use a moisturising sheet mask or sleeping mask once a week to combat the occasion dryness. I’m currently using Origins Drink-Up Intensive Overnight Mask and I have recently ran out of Laneige Sleeping Mask Pack and will grab them very soon because it’s amazinggggg.

klairs blemish cream

If i'm going out, i'd definitely be using sunblock! The UV rays not only make you darker but they can also cause sunspots and whatnot! I'm currently using Klairs Illuminating Supple Blemish Cream with SPF40 but i'm also looking for something colourless. Let me know if you'd like to recommend anything :)

Anddddd, that's all folks!
