23 Years

Camel Vest: Columns & Row | Bag: Mansur Gavriel

I officially turned 23 two weeks back on 11th November.

I think in some point in life, you'd care less about your birthday, You don't make plans for birthdays anymore, you just want to take leave and sleep in on a Wednesday morning. I guess 23 is the year for me. With that said, it's still nice to receive calls and messages from family and friends wishing that all good things would come my way. It's especially nice to see old friends search up your name and drop you a birthday wish on WhatsApp, instead of just an effortless Facebook wall post.

I guess 23 is THE year for me. I can feel the transition into young adulthood - real responsibilities and all that jazz, you know. I thought 22 to 23 would just be another regular year for me; nothing much would have changed and I'd still feel the same. But, i'm glad to say that pretty much everything in my life has changed for the better in just a year.

Looking back now, i'm beyond grateful. I got out of a terrible job and landed myself in a position where i'm writing (and eating) about food for a living, it's pretty much my dream job (for now). I moved on from a bad relationship and i'm so much happier now. I have grown to be so independent and more importantly, I have grown closer to God. Of course, there's always room for improvement but right now, i'm happy and thankful.

A year older, a year wiser right.

I hope that a year later, i would be writing about how my life has changed for the better again. I'd like to think that i'm an optimist.
