A trip to Trick Eye Museum: a museum like no other

The name Trick Eye is short for ‘Trick of the Eye’ which refers to an art technique that turns two-dimensional paintings into three-dimensional images through the use of optical illusions. Although its history dates back to ancient Greece and Rome, the arty term Trompe-l’oeil (French for deceive the eye) only came into use during the Baroque period. The museum is ranked the number 1 tourist attraction in Seoul, South Korea and it has finally arrived on our shores!

Drew and I had the privilege to visit the museum some time last week. We had previously walked past the museum before and it had an insaaaane crowd with a waiting time of up to 6 hours. However, when we visited the museum last week, waiting time was only a mere 5 minutes! So if the museum still interests you (I don't see why not), you may like to reconsider dropping by soon!

There are 3 parts to the museum -
Please touch! Museum where they highly encourage everyone to touch and take photos of all displayed works.
Interactive! Museum where you are to step inside or crawl into the exhibits. Interact with the characters and become the subject of the artwork on display.
Trick Eye! Museum where more than 80 optical illusion paintings and installations which will boggle your mind.

Be sure to charge your cameras and smartphones so you can take lots of photos! Here are some of my favourites:

Not a lot of photos here because I don't wanna spoil the museum for you. Go explore it and see for yourself!
